Week 6: Tuesday in person meet. We did our 12 minute run, sit ups and push ups

Reflection: I did fine and all but it ruined the rest of my day. I was mentally out of it and my brain was mush. The rest of the reflection was already done when I submitted the results after 6 weeks. The before and after
Thursday: I did a light jog for about 20 minutes or so

Reflection: It was a light jog in the dark because it's too darn hot to do that earlier, plus I'm not a morning person and on top of that I had my final today at 1pm for my Soc-32 class and I read 5 chapter from last night at 7 till 130am and then got to bed around 3am and up at 8 and read from 9 till 1130. I got the 3rd highest score so it was worth it, but had to wait till dark for the jog. it was a light jog....not really much to say about it lol.

Wednesday: played tennis for about 45 minutes

Reflection: The girl I've been seeing and also playing tennis with....the tennis is fun but not sure how long we will continue to see each other. I'm enjoying the tennis but if we stop seeing each other then I wont have anyone to play with anymore :(

Sunday: Dug 2 holes for trees. About 2 feet wide and 3 feet deep. Took over an hour.

Reflection: I dug them before noon and it wasn't too horrible out there yet. Took a good amount of time to dig them because the ground is dry and hard as a rock. I was barely able to finish because my hands were starting to blister, but I got it done without that happening....barely

Saturday: Played tennis for an hour

Reflection: It wasn't too hot out. Still plenty hot but not as hot at it had been the last week +. I need to not try as hard otherwise the person I'm playing against wont to play anymore. Need to let them win sometimes. Physically I felt pretty good the whole time.

Week 5: Jogged and walked around the soccer field for 30 minutes

Reflection: Well there's not much to say. I jogged and walked for 30 minutes. I didn't really want to because of my shoulder being sore since Sunday, but after jogging for a short time I realized that if I bent my arm like it was in a sling and grabbed ahold of my shirt then that kept my shoulder from bouncing around and it didn't bother me much at all.

Sunday: played tennis for 15 minutes

Reflection: Trying to play tennis for a 3rd night in a row was a bad idea but I had to, to get my time logged in. I had to stop after about 15 minutes because my left knee started hurting from over working it trying to play 3 days in a row. Well I definitely wont be doing that again for quite some time. I didn't get to try and take a pic because everything got cut short. On top of that I don't know how I'd take a pic of it anyways and that's actually why I didn't take one last week

Saturday Night: Tonight I played tennis for at least another 45 minutes

Reflection: Just as I had thought, taking my first time of the week from a lil over 1 hour down to around 45 minutes allowed me to play longer the next night (tonight). I'm not sure exactly what to expect tomorrow night but hopefully more than 30 minutes. Last week I was 2 nights in a row and this time it will be 3. shorter duration the first night, but a lil longer the second night. It very well could be a mistake to play 3 nights in a row only my second week out, but I don't have a choice as I need to hit my quota for the week. Obviously I could do something different, but honestly it's excruciatingly boring....so much so that I truly dread doing it and there is zero enjoyment.
Week 4

Friday Night: Played tennis for about 45 minutes

Reflection: This time it was about 45 minutes instead of a lil over an hour as I did for the first time last week. Playing for over an hour last week was too much too soon and that's why the next time I only had about 30 minutes in me. I expected to be able to play longer tonight.

Played tennis last night (Sunday) again for about 30 minutes. For some reason when I came on here last night to post I couldn't. I just kept getting the blue circle spinning on the main page and none of my prior post were showing up. Later on I even had an issue with my online game being very laggy and I couldn't hardly play. I'm guessing it was a Comcast issue, but I don't know for sure

Reflection: Had to cut it short last night. At 43 years old and just getting back into being active after being out of it for so long, I can't be doing this stuff everyday. After about 30 minutes my right shoulder was hurting because I played for an hour the night before. Need to give it a rest for a couple of days.

Week 3:

Tennis today for about an hour.

Reflection: I reconnected with a girl I used to date last year and in that last year she started playing tennis. It's been well over 10 years since I've played and so this was a great way for us to enjoy time together doing something constructive as we had started hanging out again during the week. This was our first time playing and we are going to make it a regular thing for us. Of course we waited till the sun went down and it's really nice that some places have the lights set to go on after dark. An hour was more than plenty. Actually I should have stopped sooner. As with all new activities, they shouldn't be over-done when first starting. Plus the heat is horrible this weekend so if it wasn't for the lights being set to come on then there's no way we'd be playing with the sun out, even later in the day.

Wednesday's workout was specifically just the 30+ minutes of doing the Yoga and Pilates.

Reflection: (Refer to my discussion posts) Plus it actually really sucked having to so those 2 videos because I only have tile floors in the studio where I live and just barely enough space to actually do them once I pushed my coffee table out of the way a bit.
Day 2 of swinging the 10 pound sledgehammer. this time for the other half  of the stakes (8) it took about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Driving 8 stakes about 2 feet down into the hard dirt is a LOT of work and that's why I didn't try to do all 16 in 1 day. Not only is it really hot outside but I didn't want to over due it with my upper body. plus on top of that my hands would have been all messed up.

Reflection:I was really beat at the end and I'm still VERY tired out even though its been a couple of hours since I finished. There are a couple of spots on my right hand that I could feel starting to have issues. Luckily I was at the last 2 stakes and they didn't get any worse. Good thing it's all done now and I wont have to do that again for who knows how long.
Yesterdays workout consisted of me swinging a 10 pound sledge hammer for about 1.5 hours. Driving 6' metal stakes for a wire fence into hardpan dirt that hasn't been disturbed in decades. I got 8 of the 16 in and today I'll be doing the other 8. Luckily I was in the shade the whole time. Today I'll be in the shade about half the time.

Reflection: it's quite the upper body and mid section workout for sure. I was pretty beat yesterday after 1.5 hours of driving stakes in the ground. I do all sorts or home remodeling and fix-it jobs so I'll be doing this and similar activities in the future.

Week 2:

Today my workout consisted of moving over 100 pieces of scrap Granite. This definitely took over an hour to do so it more than qualifies for a 50 minute workout.

Reflection: I had been needing to do this for awhile and now that it cooled down I figured I'd kill 2 birds with 1 stone. The pieces are usually at least 2' by 2' and up to 3' by 5'. They are 2cm thick so they get pretty heavy very quickly with the size increase. This isn't a workout I'd want to do all the time but it is a great overall workout because you are working out your upper, mid and lower body the whole time.

Two 10-minutes jogging sessions. 1 mid morning and then another around 7pm.

1 set of pushups mid morning and another late day

1 set of sit-ups mid morning and another mid day

Did things a lil differently today because the heat is horrible in this valley. Also too it's a lot easier on my body since it's bee so long since I've exercised. Pic is from my late day jog

Week 1: 1st workout

Ran for 15 minutes early-ish in the morning before it was disgustingly hot.

Did few sets of sit-ups.

Also a few sets of push-ups.

Reflection: Forcing yourself to workout when it's not only pretty hot (around 96 and humidity 30+) is not what I consider to be enjoyable. This much of a workout is a lil much for someone just getting back into things. I was very sore after Tuesday's class for the next 2.5 days. Was finally back to normal sometime Friday. When I used to play basketball that was totally different because I play, not for the workout, but for desire of competition. Being physically fit was an added bonus.
